² You know that after two days will be the Passover. And the Son of man will be delivered to be crucified.

³ Then the chief priests, scribes, and elders of the people assembled together at the palace of the high priest called Caiaphas ⁴ and held a council, how they might take Jesus by subtlety and kill him.
